Mrs. Katie Hiecke
Mrs. Hiecke is a Second Grade teacher at Clearview Elementary. She has been teaching at Clearview for eight years. She loves teaching second grade, and has done so for the last nine years. Prior to teaching second grade Mrs. Hiecke taught third grade for nine years. She graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She then went on to get her Master's Degree from Penn State York in Curriculum and Instruction.
Mrs. Hiecke lives at home with her husband, Chris, and children Landon (13), and Isabella "Izzy" (9). They enjoy the company of two dogs and a cat: Sydney, a 10 year old German Shephard/Black Lab mix, Remy, a 5 year old Dachshund mix, and Luna, a 4 year old black cat.
Mrs. Hiecke enjoys spending time with her family taking trips to the beach, playing games, watching movies, and riding bikes. She also enjoys watching her children do what they love - play basketball and compete in hip hop dancing.
Her family is also very passionate about an organization called The Four Diamonds, which helps families of children with pediatric cancer. She helps organize and run the Red Lion Mini-THON, which is a club that raises money for The Four Diamonds Fund. This organization is near and dear to her heart because her son, Landon, is a cancer survivor. The Four Diamonds Fund paid for medical bills and funded research so that Mrs. Hiecke could focus solely on making sure her son survived.
She is looking forward to a great year with her new class of second graders!
